March 4-10

This week I have been SO busy!! I'm trying to get ready for the Simple Treasures Boutique that starts this coming Wednesday. I have lots of prints, but felt like I needed to play with the rest of the hymnbooks. Here are some of the samplings to add to what I posted last week.

This last one- these eggs- I did something like this for Valentine's day. They are just little watercolor pictures. You get the paintbrush wet and can then paint the pics! So fun.

If you're around Farming between Wed-Sat, you should stop by the Legacy Events Center and check out the Simple Treasures Boutique. It's $1 to get in and there are some pretty amazing vendors there!

Anyway, here are the bookmarks for this week.

Feb 25-Mar 3 Bookmarks

I'm beginning to love these blog posts so I can let you know what I've been up to!

This week, it's hit me how close Simple Treasures Boutique is and how INCREDIBLY unprepared I am. But the Lord has performed several little miracles on my behalf that have helped in this aspect. One thing I was worried about was inventory. I had half of what I needed and didn't have the budget to replenish  the rest. Then, one day, while I was writing in my business notebook, I received a FLOOD of inspiration! So many ideas came flowing faster than I could write. Now, I know I can't do all of these ideas, but it was so great to have so much to choose from.

I've decided to have a whole bunch of EGG STUFFERS! Last night, I hired a friend to come over and help me with these tags and envelopes.

I've also started making Page Wreaths. This is the first one I did- and it has already sold!!! I'm so stoked. I'm going to try a couple of different styles this week on top of this one.

I still have FAR more ideas than time, but I'd like to know- what non-candy things do you put in YOUR eggs and what Spiritual Gifts do you give for Easter?

I do know what you actually came here, for, so here ya go! A reminder to right click, save as.

Feb 18-24 Bookmarks

Can I tell you how much I love this class?! On the one hand, it's teaching me good habits that I have desperately been lacking (*cough, record-keeping, cough*), but on the other hand, it's confirming that what I have going here really is a good thing! Now if I can just stay focused and make time to paint more, things would be so much better!

On that note, I'd love to hear your feedback about my business. Reviews on my etsy page, comments on the blog, shares on IG or FB go a LONG way for me. Both for my confidence and to reassure me that I'm doing what the Lord wants me to. Thanks so much for being part of my tribe.

Without further ado, the bookmarks for the coming week. Note that the graphic on the tri-fold is NOT by me, but the website where I found it IS on the bookmark itself. Remember to right-click and save as to get these images on your computer.

Hold up, one more thing. You know I work in themes, right? So here are a few of my LIGHT themed pieces, available in the store. I'll even link them for you so you can purchase them easily. If you want a lot of them, I recommend using the 5 5x7 feature to mix and match!

Naturally, I have them all combined in SCRIPTURE STICKERS! These are my pet favors right now.

I did realize that several of these are NOT in the shop. If you like any of the following and want it available as prints, please either comment here or send me a message on IG or FB and I'll get it in the shop ASAP.

New Year, New Curriculum, New Goals

Often times I have made a goal to be better at blogging, but there has never been any joy in it for me. I've always felt like blogging was a chore. However..... I have something new to offer that I've decided to offer her. If you're on my Facebook group for Art by Geek Girl, I'm sure you've noticed that I've had weekly printable bookmarks for the Come, Follow Me curriculum.  These are not fancy bookmarks. They are literally copied and pasted from the Church's digital manual. The only thing I do is set them out so they are visually in smaller bites. Also, I leave room to answer the questions and occasionally will add a conference talk or article from the Ensign in bold. Pretty much that means my family needs to read it.

See, I am pretty much just offering to the world what I'm already doing for my family. I have two sets of bookmarks. One for the kids 8+ and one for the Littles. My kids are rewarded for what scripture study they do. If they read all the scriptures I've put in bold on the bookmark and answered all the questions, they get a Sunday Buck. If they read the extra things- conference talks, articles in Ensign or New Era, they get another Sunday Buck. Occasionally there will even be more opportunities, but most weeks, just the two are up. They save up their Sunday Bucks and can trade them in for things like a treat at McDonald's or a $2 movie or staying up late.

So, for you, we start now. I'll still be putting these on my Facebook group, which you are welcome to join, but I will be putting them here also.

*tiny change this week- Normally there is room on the bookmark to answer the questions. This week, however, there was far too much content, so instead I've numbered them. They can now be answered in order inside the bookmark.

Here is the adult bookmark (right click > save as)
Note the artwork is NOT by me. I left the copyright mark on there so the illustrator can be credited.

Here are the kids bookmarks (right click > save as)

And if you wanted to do Sunday Bucks as well, here they are. (right click > save as)

Something New (in my Etsyhood)

I received a special order for something this last week that had me all kinds of exciting! Someone wanted a 16x20 print of I Need Thee Every Hour. Let me tell you, that was intimidating!! Knowing that if there were any big mistakes or discolorations, it would be painfully obvious. But, I did it! And it turned out beautifully. So I made a decision!!
(this is the 16x20 next to an 8x10)
Each one page spread will be available in FOUR sizes- 5x7, 8x10, 11x14, and 16x20. These are all still standard frame sizes, but the amount of white around the edges will vary. I've also streamlined my shipping and all prints are now $3.00 to ship. That is lowering the price of the bigger prints and staying the same for the price of smaller prints.

Also, I have a super exciting moment that happened a week or so ago. Most of you know that I'm on instagram (@geekgirlph). I follow a neat page called @faithmate and they did me an awesome favor and featured one of my pages!!! Do yourself a favor and go follow them! <3
